International Commercial Arbitration Training:
Entry Level Course: Open to both
members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (“CIArb”*) and non-members,
the Entry Level Course (“ELC”) provides training to individuals preparing to
serve as neutrals in international commercial disputes and is a comparative
review of the various laws and institutional rules for conducting an
international commercial arbitration. It also serves as an excellent
introduction to international commercial arbitration for counsel. The course
utilizes representatives of the CIArb who are experienced arbitrators and
qualified tutors. This intensive Course consists principally of discussions
and role playing in case-related scenarios. The format of training affords
participants the opportunity to confront, analyze and resolve procedural and
substantive issues which arise in an international arbitration. An examination
follows the ELC. The exam is recognized as part of the CIArb membership
qualification program. Upon successful completion of the Course, participants
may apply for Associate membership in the CIArb. |
